Guide to Wellington
HILDENBRAND'S TABLE RESTAURANT
patch of paradise in the foothills above Wellington. The charming 17th century homestead with its broekielace verandas and views of vineyards and olive groves is painted in bright cheerful colours. Meet a curious menagerie of pet pigs, eight cats, dogs, goats, ducks and donkeys. Talk about my family and other animals! The rustic country kitchen offers wholesome fare that showcases local farm products. Mop up the quiche, wurst, schnitzel, salads and breads with proprietor Reni Hildenbrand's gourmet olive oils pressed next door and her fine wines made in the barn cellar with its crooked old beams. Hildenbrand wines available.

SEASONS
Set in majestic gardens with sweeping lawns, lake and paddocks, the elegant Victorian home now has a restaurant as well as a boutique wine cellar. The Duke of Wellington, Arthur Valerian Wellesley, was the guest of honour at a grand ball at the gracious country estate during a rare regal visit in February 2004. The winery at the heart of the Wellington renaissance matches its award-winning red wines with delectable souffl?and soups, lamb and liver, baby chicken and divine desserts. Diemersfontein wines of course!
